Suppliment Your Health

I was paying $100/month for my vitamin and supplement packs. I assumed they must have everything I needed ... not so.

When I got around to actually reading the ingredients I found out that I was not receiving my daily recommended allowance of Magnesium and ... the list went on.

Take a moment today and read your fine print. Know exactly what you are taking and supplement your supplements as needed!

Participation is the key to GREAT health

Are you participating in your health or just hoping for the best? Is there something simple that you KNOW you could or should be doing - but you're not?

This is a reminder to DO-IT-NOW.

For me it has been drinking more water starting with that big glass of water in the morning - the one before breakfast - before juice - before coffee. Just that one simple little habit is doing me right!

Your turn. Do it and share here what you're doing to participate in building GREAT health and energy!

(Tomorrow I'll tell you all about those Docs I met with ... one was a keeper, one was a loser.)

Peppermint Lotion - Ummmmmm.

I was feeling a tad beat from a very active morning. Gardening, mulching, cleaning, cooking - you know - life!

So I did what I would have told you to do. I added 3 or 4 drops of Peppermint Essence Oil to a couple big glops of lotion and rub-a-dub-dubbed it into my feet. Now I am feeling all tingly and alive and energized.

Mission accomplished. Now I'll be up for 9 holes of golf and that accounting work I've been putting off ...

KISP = Keep It Simple Please!

What easy-does-it- actions can you take to give yourself some ease today - this week?

One thing I do is "Double Up." If I have to cook (and I do!) I will double up the recipe. 1/2 goes in the freezer and the rest is for dinner and lunch the next day. These freezer meals add up to days off of cooking. Yee Ha!

If I have to run errands (and I do!) I bag it all and keep it in the car. In goes the laundry for the dry cleaners, books for the library, coupons for free or discounted this and that, the brown shoelace I need to match, mail that needs to go to the post office, the light bulbs that need to be exchanged ...

Find simple ways to make your choreland easier on you. Double Up is one way. Another fav is "Delete It." Will talk about that one tomorrow ...!

The "To Do" List Tip

Here's a great tip from Darlene of Mom-Defrazzler.com

"When you write up your "to-do" list today, put at least two things on it that are quick to do, but that bring you joy -like having a cup of tea, a quick walk with the dog, reading a chapter of a book."

I'm doing it! Anyone else have a re-energizing tip for us? Add it here under the "Comments" feature or drop me a note at Viveca@FatigueBeGone.com

To Forgive is to Heal

It is an immutable mental and spiritual law that when there is a health problem, there is a forgiveness problem. You must forgive if you want to be permanently healed.
-Catherine Ponder, The Dynamic Laws of Healing

Talk to your Doc

There's nothing like home made chicken soup or a great appointment with a compassionate doc.

Had such an appointment yesterday -- got the valuable intellectual input PLUS a big hug. I really needed it.

This is a reminder that we are not islands - magazines, The Fatigue Be Gone! Guide, girlfriends, family support, interviews, Internet research, health journals - these are all excellent ways to maintain our health BUT don't forget to check in with your doc.

Have you scheduled your annual physical? If not, make that call and then ... give yourself a hug, a couple pats on the back and enjoy the rest of your day!

Thought of laughter boosts happy hormones - Article

Researching the benefits of "be happy" hormones and came across this uplifting jewel.

Here's a tidbit then click below to go to its webpage if you would like to read the rest of the story ...

Just anticipating a good laugh is enough to increase the level of feelgood hormones in your blood, a conference has heard.Previous work has shown that laughter triggers a cascade of beneficial physiological changes. But researchers presenting a new study at the Experimental Biology 2006 conference in the US recently say they've now shown that merely anticipating "mirthful laughter" before watching a funny video has significant neuroendocrine effects.

It's working ... Magnesium

Well I finally got a hold of some Magnesium for Michael and I to try and ... it is working!

Started last week taking 500 mg at night before going to bed. We've been sleeping the night away ever since. Other great news is that Michael is off of the Melatonin he's been taking for the past couple weeks. I am relieved - just didn't feel right to be getting stuck on one solution.

More good news - Also noticing that he has had fewer migraines over the past week. Another symptom of MG deficiency - besides fatigue - is headaches.

An inspirational & omnious little ditty ...

Doing a little spring cleaning today - including some old "memo books" and I came across this little ditty ...

Those who think they have no time for healthy eating will sooner or later
have to find time for illness.

- modified from: Edward Stanley (1826-1893), The Conduct of Life.

Well - I for one am up for more healthy eating & a gentle cleansing. Last fall Michael & I did a togetherness cleanse and we felt GREAT! in time for the holidays.

It was easy - at least to remember. Nothing white (rice/bread/sugar) * lots & lots of vegies * any kind of meat * light on the fruits and those 8 glasses of water a day.

Anyone want to join us? Drop me a note!
