Fatigue & Colds - Is there a connection?

I was just asked about remedies for the common cold. Interesting because I was planning to write about the connection between fatigue and mental overload ...

According to one of my teachers a cold indicates:
"Too much going on at once. Mental confusion, disorder. Small hurts" and fatigue indicates:
"Resistance, boredom. Lack of love for what one does."
Louise Hay, Heal Your Body

Me - I am doing lots of things at once -- experiencing mental confusion and not loving much of what I am doing! I am preparing to move - spending hours "on hold" making arrangements and filling out forms. Then I've been worrying about everything flowing smoothly ... I haven't even started pack yet!

So -- my remedy for the "cold" and the "fatigue" is to take-it-easy and either do less or choose to be less bothered. Frustration and overwhelm is as much a choice as being relaxed and enjoying the sunset ...

I do have one receipt for colds - a tea that I concocted years ago. Just the thought of it cures me!

The Cold Cure Brew: Bring water to boil is a sauce pan and add a pinch of Cinnamon; a pinch of cayenne pepper; a pinch of nutmeg; a pinch of sage; a pinch of ginger and a pinch of black pepper. Turn the heat down to low and let it brew for 10-15 mins then pour yourself a cup, slip in a couple Cinnamon sticks and sip away.

These are common spices that should be in your cupboard. This brew will raise your body temperature, increase your circulation and move that cold right on out!

Do the right thing.

I am tired today! Last night I did all the things I tell others not to do.

1. Hopped on the computer at 8:30 and starting working on a project. Got me all excited and wired.

2. At 9:30 I called mom and that conversation got my head flipping and flopping as only a phone call with family can. The work and this call pumped me up and into that "2ND Wind."

2. Went to bed at 11:00 fussing about having to get up at 4:30.

3. Guess what? My mind wouldn't turn off. Thinking about work, family and early rising; early rising, family and work ... End result, I slept poorly and I am tired today!

The great thing is that I can start my day over anything. For now I will just keep on keeping on, I will pick a couple projects that I can easily accomplish. Moral Boost = Energy Boost.

Then I will get back on track. Tonight, after 8:00 p.m., OFF go my electronic devises a (computers, telephone and TV.) I will be-in-bed at 9:00 p.m. with an inspirational read and maybe a little company?

Whatever happens rest assured that I will be back on track and re-Energized in the morn. How about you? What is your plan?

Reflexology hits the spot.

Reflexology is a massage therapy. It presses “reflex” points on the feet, or hands, to release pent up energies and dis-eases in the body.

Rub along the side of your foot - from the big toe to your heal to release aches, pains and stiffness in your spine.

Rub the pad of your feet to clear up your lungs --- the ball of your feet to stimulate your thyroid gland.

And the list goes on ... This is a fascinating and easy-does-it way to feel better, uncover blocks and self-health yourself ...

You can read up and practice what you learn with these excellent books on Reflexology. Or, you can learn "hands on" a.k.a. via a therapeutic massage at your local massage therapy school (where the price is right!)

Power Napping a.k.a Relax - don't fight it.

Today I was pooped so what did I do? Gave in and took a 20 minute nap. I woke up feeling great and back in the game. Did a cool little meditation into and out of the nap ... I focused on the word "Life" and spoke it over and over to each part of my body starting with the top of my head. I fell asleep around my breastbone!

Next time I will start with my toes and, the next time you feel weary, nap on it ...
