Junk Mail Fatigue? The cure - National Card and Letter Writing Month

Instead of junk mail I’d like to celebrate “National Card and Letter Writing Month” with some good news, please. Heck, I’d settle for any piece of mail that does not threaten or guilt me into …

* completing a survey.

* making a donation.

* calling or writing to my congresspersons or political party.

* eating or drinking something I don’t want at some place I don’t want to be.

* making a payment NOW or at sometime sooner than later.

* paying someone else’s bill NOW or sometime soon.

Ahhhhh …. I long for a note from a friend with a funny cartoon inside, a letter from my mother with a check to go “spoil” myself, a note from a girlfriend “just because.”

The thing about notes and letters is that one often has to initiate them. However, once they are in motionthey seem to take on a life of their own and become more frequent …

I was on a roll earlier this year writing “thank you” notes. Amazing things came out of that! … lots of return notes (thank yous, funny and sweet), an autographed copy of “Why Good Things Happen to Good People,” a major discount on a car repair job and tons of feel-good energy.

Best of all I found that writing notes cheered me up. Doing good onto others just seems to do the best on to me too.

Next month, April, is officially known as “National Card and Letter Writing Month.” It is also known as “National Humor Month.” You can celebrate both by mailing out funny DogCaption Cards! And … 25% of the profits from these card packs benefit dog and cat rescues. I should know. I am kinda on the board!

While you’re at it - why don’t you surprise me with a note? I’ll return the favor! My address is:
10321 Antietam Court, Fredericksburg, VA 22408.

Special thanks to girlfriendcelebrations.com for bringing “National Card and Letter Writing Month” to my attention.

Cheers! Viveca

P.S. Another cool April event is the release of a new stamp, the "Adopt a Shelter Pet" Stamp

Extremely Fatigued for Years. How Can I Stop Feeling So Tired all the Time?

Dear Viveca,

I have suffered from extreme fatigue for two years. I get a little better then I quit protocol, seems like I’m still pushing myself. Doing anything for me is hard because I grew up with the belief it was selfish. I have a lot of anxiety and spend my nights fighting with insomnia. I know emotional health is part of healing. I tried therapy only to have it knock me down again. Bringing up those old feelings caused me to crash and burn and left me feeling depressed. How do I start again?

***

Dear Extremely Fatigued,

I recently corresponded with a mother who was seeking help for her 21-year old daughter. These days are particularly stressful and exhausting for everyone - no matter the age. You say that you’ve been fatigued for two years. Could this be connected to the economy, politics, news?

I have two bottom line suggestions. Both are relatively inexpensive and offer immediate results. If this sounds self-serving on my part - just do it anyway!

1. Bazi. To make a long-story short my fatigue came back big time last year when I went through radiation treatment for Stage 1 breast cancer. Stage 1 is the next best thing to Stage None so don’t be worried for me. Anyway my brother sent me a case of Bazi; a liquid dietary supplement. I showed it to my doc who O.K’d it and to my Nutritionist who approved it. Bazi got me through radiation in style. It even cleared up some joint and arthritis issues. I’m done with radiation, but I continue to use it to cover my daily supplement requirements & for its energy boost properties.

I like Bazi so much I became a product Ambassador. I recommend starting with an order for a “two-pack.” You’ll want to drink three to four ounces per day for a week or two, then drop it to two to three ounces a day. My website is: http://www.drinkbazi.biz/viveca

2. Fatigue Be Gone Guide. Did you go through the guide two years ago and now you are feeling tired again OR have you never used it? If you have then I recommend that you repeat the 8-step process. I do every year before my physical.

If you are tired of feeling tired, purchase the Fatigue Be Gone Jumpstart eGuide for $9.99. Upon receipt of payment, you can download the book and instantly begin your wellness journey. The fatigue guide is backed by a 30 day money-back-guarantee, so you have nothing to lose and energy to gain!

Where the Bazi nutrition supplement can give you an immediate, all-day, energy boost and reduce stress, the Fatigue Be Gone guide can help detect and eliminate energy drains. (physical, emotional, spiritual) You need to know, notice and note: If you are suffering from fatigue something isn’t working. Something(s) need to be eliminated, shifted or added. You need this bottom-line information:

• What time of the day do you feel most tired?
• What is your typical diet? Are you suffering from vitamin or mineral deficiencies?
• Are you dehydrated, suffering from food allergies, toxic relationships or simply being too much of a yes-man?
• What is behind your anxiety? The Fatigue Be Gone guide gives you simple techniques you can use anywhere, anytime to relax and move forward in a positive energy-boosting direction.
• Are you sleeping enough and sleeping at the best times to recharge your adrenal “get up and go” glands?

3. Final suggestions: Fun, Frivolity and Volunteerism

What are you doing for fun and what is your community service project? Fun and service were not a part of my routine during the worst of times. Adding them back in gave me huge dividends. The fun came in my Friday Night Salsa Class — happy music, new friends and something to look forward to at the end of the week (TGIF, like when we were kids, right?)

Service work - I volunteer three hours a week at my neighborhood “no kill” shelter. This work has given me much satisfaction and new friends - two and four footed.

I hope this fatigue-busting information is of your use to you. Please stay in touch and share your increased energy success story with us!

Adrenal Fatigue. Does my daughter have "it?"

Concerned mom wants to know why her daughter is tired all the time

Hi Viveca,

I was searching the web trying to find some way to help my daughter and found your website. She has all of the symptoms of adrenal fatigue. She is 21 and has always been very skinny and energetic. She has gained 40 pounds in the last two years and has terrible acne along with all of the other symptoms you listed. I understand the emotional aspects, but I am wondering if you are taking anything for adrenal fatigue and if so, is it helping? I am desperate to help my daughter. She just moved to LA to persue a career in acting and this has the odds stacked against her. The worst it gets the more stressed she becomes. I would love to hear back from you. Thank you very much. - Concerned Mom

Dear Mom,

When I was about her age and going full throttle I use to regularly wear myself out and into bronchitis. A very wise doctor I had at that time would say to me "you can keep going and go into pneumonia and break your health and take a very long time to recover or, you can go to bed for a few days and get some rest." That blunt style worked for me and I'd head to bed.

Left untreated, adrenal fatigue can go into adrenal failure in which you break your health. Unlike adrenal fatigue, adrenal failure can take years to recover. So, perhaps you could mention that you'd spoken with an expert who said she could either make a few changes NOW or take a few years off to recover. Blunt worked best with me then and now.

I am not a doctor and always recommend visiting a physician to determine if there are underlying causes. That being said, if your daughter decides to make changes I would recommend she do the following immediately:

1. Purchase the Fatigue Be Gone Jumpstart e-Guide and complete Steps 1-3.
Make an appointment to see a doctor in 21 days. Complete the 'Physical Feelings' and 'Symptoms Survey' plus the 'Lifestyle Survey'.

Perhaps you could make this a mother/daughter activity. My mother and I went to smoke-enders together and it really helped to have the extra support!

2. Keep a diet, lifestyle & activity log for 7 days. Paying close attention to the foods you eat and daily activities makes it easier to track adrenal fatigue symptoms. Reviewing dietary, lifestyle and activity habits provides the opportunity to uncover destructive habits. Fatigue Be Gone Jumpstart e-Guide includes a Diet and Activity Log.

3. Review data and make changes. Healthy changes offering a natural energy boost include:

• Eliminate habits that deplete energy; i.e.: watching television or being on the computer after 8:00 pm; irregular sleep hours; toxic relationships.
• Choose one new healthy habit to form and get started. One habit at a time. One energy boost success will lead to another. New habits can be formed quickly; usually in 21 days or less. On the other hand, bad energy-zapping habits can be very difficult to break. Therefore, NEVER try to break a habit. Instead, start a new one to take its place.

Highly recommended 21-day practices that turn into energy-sustaining habits include:

• Become a Dog Walking Volunteer at a local "no kill" shelter. This 3-hour a week activity brought me new friends, much joy, a huge boost in self-esteem and energy (giver's gain.) It also melted off 7 pounds of extra weight in no time!

• Getting to bed by 10:00 p.m. every night with a quiet book and 'lights out' by 11:00 p.m. The adrenal glands do their most significant recharging between 11:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m.

• Weekly meeting with a psychologist, personal lifestyle coach, or spiritual advisor to explore better ways to deal with stress and anxiety.

• Learn something new, fun and communal. A Friday Night Salsa or Jitterbug Class is cheap and fun way to increase energy. Added bonuses include learning how to dance, increased self-confidence and forming new friendships. Been there, done that and loved it!

• Break-the-Fast. Eat the Oatmeal Energize or a variation of it every morning.

• Engage in a news/internet/e-mail fast two to three days per week. Chances are your daughter needs to take cell phone and text messages to stay up with work opportunities. Anything else needs to be turned off a couple days every week because they over stimulate our adrenal glands.

• Get ready for tomorrow, tonight. Besides breakfast this is the best way to de-stress the morning and so, the rest of the day. Lay out the clothes you plan to wear down to the skivvies. Pack the lunch and any other materials needed for the day. People suffering from adrenal fatigue feel easily overwhelmed. Simplifying life and making days flow with ease are essential step to recovery.

Finally, how about some mother/daughter/best friend time? Could you take a week to fly out and just-have-fun with her? L.A. is a huge, fantastic, throbbing city. I bet she's feeling a bit lost and overwhelmed. My mother came to visit me for a couple weeks when I moved to Virginia. I was feeling a bit lost and lonely. She helped me break in the town and gave me a big dose of love and fun.

I hope this is of use to you and your daughter. Please keep me updated on your daughter's fatigue recovery. Sending you both my best!

Viveca

P.S. On a final note (for now) I recommend listening to an interview I had with the author of The Dance of Fear. Dr. Lerner is enjoyable to listen to – has a light touch - and offers invaluable advice on this topic. With everything going on right now most of us are feeling overly anxious and stressed. This interview would also be a good discussion piece between the two of you.

Blood Type Diet

Natural way to boost energy and recover from fatigue or any dis-ease.

My journey to understand and recover from fatigue has paused, lingered and returned to the Blood Type Diet. The first visit was for me. Michael was suffering from terrible migraines and while researching for him I found something that works great for us. No good deed goes unrewarded …

Michael and I are opposites. I am a Blood Type A which Dr. D'Adamo refers to as "The Cultivator." Another word is vegetarian. Michael is a Type "O" a.k.a. "The Hunter" a.k.a. carnivorous! My first "date" meals for him were unconsciously vegi- oriented. Put me in a kitchen and I'm reaching for a chopping knife and a big vegetable! He ate a couple of these meals with exclamations of "delicious!" Around the time of the third repast he was at my elbow with a side of meat. One of our first jokes was "and here's the beef!"

Making a long story short --- the more I work with the principles of The Blood Type diet the better we feel. Last year's health adventure UPPED my focus and integrated another work of Dr. D'Adamo, CANCER Fight It with the Blood Type Diet. This book features a new food value category, "super beneficial foods," a disease-fighting and immunity-boosting super food category.

This week I will post the super beneficial foods for each blood type. The goal is to have you incorporate as many as possible into your daily diet routine.

It can be as easy as sprinkling flax on your oatmeal and throwing in some dried cherries then adding soymilk to your morning java. It can take some effort like what I'm going through to find jackfruit! It may also give you a great reason to hang out in French restaurants (Escargot is a super beneficial for Type A's.)

Note: I'll be listing for one blood type a day. If this isn't you, just check back in a couple of days.

Blood Type A:
Super Beneficial Food List

Soy Foods

Richly oiled cold-water fish, Snail

Flax (linseed) oil

Peanut, Walnut

Fava (broad) bean

Amaranth

Domestic mushroom, Onion, Broccoli/broccoli leaves, Garlic

Red grapefruit, Watermelon, Jackfruit, Elderberry, Blueberry, Cherry

Dill Weed, Tarragon, Tumeric

Green Tea

I have a couple more recommendations for you.

  1. Print off this list. Post it in your kitchen so that it is at your finger tips and under your nose, literally.
  2. Purchase Dr. Peter D'Adamo's book: Cancer: Fight It with the Blood Type Diet (Eat Right for Your Type Health Library) You don't have to have cancer to benefit hugely from this book. You don't have to have adrenal failure before you start loving, nourishing and caring from your adrenal glands with the Fatigue Be Gone Jumpstart e-Guide.
  3. If you don't know your blood type you can be "typed" for free by donating blood at a blood bank. You can also order an inexpensive blood type test kit here.

Finally, do sign up to receive the almost weekly Fatigue Be Gone Newsletter. I keep it

bottom-line short with just a reenergizing tip or two that can easily be added into
your routine. For your first natural energy-boost tip click here!

Energy-boosting Product Review: Dr. Andrew Weil's Self-Healing with Sound & Music

When I was diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer last year I scurried about to add new tools to my self-help toolbox. Yes I needed more energy. The radiation treatment was exhausting. But I was also looking for somethingS to change my insides – mental, emotional, spiritual and chemical.

Dr. Andrew Weil & Kimba Arem's self-help Cd offers to "revitalize your body & mind with proven sound healing tools." Right on.

Self-Healing with sound & music is a two-disc package. Disc One explains the science behind the sounds. Chapters include: "How sound affects our physical and emotional health," "The Principle of Entrainment*," "Vocalizing Vowel Sounds for Self-Healing" and "Interacting with the Chakras through Sound." Fascinating.

Disc Two is the sound and music – about one hour of bliss. The track names are appropriate: "Water Way," "Spinal Ebb," "Peace Journey," "Angels of the Deep," etc. This disc is now a part of my nightly relaxation bed-time routine and let me tell you – I feel like I am sleeping with angels! (Besides my husband, cats and dogs!) The music has also been very effective in helping my husband let go and sleep well. Win win.

***** I give this product a five-star out of five-star rating. Detailed explanation plus the sound and music make it an excellent product for individual and family use.

To order a copy of Self-Healing with Sound and Music, click here.

Entrainment: This is a complex concept. In brief, entrainment is changing the frequency of brainwaves to positively affect health, energy levels, mental outlook (sad/happy), sleep patterns etc. In this case I used music and sounds to affect the above.

Annual Physical: HUGE opportunity to uncover why you feel so tired.

Most health insurance plans include a FREE annual physical. Most of us walk into this appointment with less preparation than we'd put into a Baskin & Robbins outing! Is this because it is free? Partly. The big reason is a characteristic typically expressed by chronically fatigued women and men.

We (cough, couch) tend to not take care of ourselves or take notice of our "selves." We take great care of our significant others. We are attentive to work and community obligations BUT when it comes to self-care … we flat line.

I'm not putting anyone down. Look to your right or left – that's me in the trenches next to you!

Next Thursday, March 11th, is a very important doctor's appointment. Nine days out. Today I started filling out the Fatigue Be Gone "Daily Food & Activity Log." This log is designed to help uncover your fatigue causes and symptoms, patterns and blocks. Click here a copy you can start using today. PDF file.

So far I've uncovered the following fatigue causes & culprits …

  • I make my husband a great bag lunch everyday. This includes carrots, apple slices, nuts, dried fruit … good food with good energy-boosting snacks. Me, I tend to work through lunch … then I have the afternoon slump. Duh.
  • Not drinking enough water. Will keep track to be sure I am getting those 8-glasses a day. Dehydration has been a past fatigue.
  • Too many open projects. Mental fatigue is rolling over into physical fatigue. Time to pick what needs to go away, go on hold or be completed. (Completing taxes this weekend will help but I still need to cut back. Very tough when everything seems so important.)
  • A toxic relationship is draining me … needs to acknowledge that and release or rejuvenate it.
  • Thinking about working out is not the same as working out. It is not working to be in two places at once. I need to get my booty back to the gym – no excuses.
  • Nails are brittle, breaking easily. Do I have a Vitamin B deficiency? Will request a test. Have been borderline anemic over the past years. Will also request to have that re-tested.

When is your annual physical? Aside from the Fatigue Be Gone "Daily Food & Activity Log" you might benefit from investing $9.95 in the Fatigue Be Gone Jumpstart e-Guide. The guide includes thorough health and lifestyle surveys, simple home medical tests that will save both time and money (yours and the doc) plus energy-boosting tips, tools and techniques.

Psst. If you are suffering from fatigue don't wait to schedule your physical. There is a big difference between feeling tired and feeling tired all the time. In this case, make your physical appointment today and order the Fatigue Be Gone Guide to help prepare yourself.

Bottom-line truth. No one will ever care more about your health than you. No one else will ever spend the time you can to figure out what is going wrong. You'll get maybe five or ten minutes with your doctor … Do your homework. You will be amazed at what your hours + their minutes will accomplish.
