ARGG & Ahhhhh with Magma Plus Greens

The ARGG part of this post has to do with the price I paid and the time I wasted to get my Magma Plus.

I shop for my supplements 99.9% of the time through eVits. Whenever I buy elsewhere I pay more. This week I bought Green Foods "Magma Plus" for $20.57. I could-have-paid $17.88 AND not wasted time in traffic AND waiting to be checked out.

Now for the ahhhhh part that goes with my wand!

I am diligently working to UP my alkaline-forming fruits and veggies. Why? Fatigue is a major symptom associated with an overly acidic diet and I want to feel my best. I also want my stressed out, carnivore husband to feel his best! Stress makes our bodies more acidic also.
Anyhuuu - "The" goal is to consume 80% alkaline-forming fruits & veggies and 20% acid-forming foods. As you can imagine, the acid forming foods tend to be delicious (fudge, breads, meats, dairy) and the alkaline selections, splashed with olive oil, lemon and a dash of salt, tend to "grow on you."

I've been struggling.

Then a health mentor told me about an easy way to up the good stuff called ... Magma Plus. SHIZam! One heaping tablespoon and I am almost at my goal. It also gives me a healthy buzzzzz. This helps me come in around 60 (alkaline) and 40 (acid) in my diet which is a huge improvement.
Get a jar for yourself. Magma Plus by Green Foods

Is now a good time to stock up on any other energy-boosting products? Shipping is free for orders under 5lbs or more than $70. I hit both easily - you can too. Here is my daily supplement list.

Just Add D - Vitamin D, that is ...

Energy Boosting & Healthy Body Building
Benefits of Vitamin D

The sunshine vitamin, Vitamin D, is positively associated with regulating weight, supporting stronger bones, preventing osteoporosis, eliminating depression and protecting us against cancers including breast cancer.

I read about it 3-4 months ago and added 1000 mg to my daily routine.

Next, I mailed the article to my mother. She is borderline diabetic and has been suffering from neuropathy in her. Guess what. She doesn’t anymore. Her results inspired me to give away a couple other bottles to friends who are diabetic and not into reading, researching and taking their health on.

Vitamin D 1000 IU by Now
I love Vitamin D for all the good it does and how-cheap-it-is … Click here to order a bottle for yourself, your mom and a friend in need.

I buy all my supplements at a great discount from eVits - saves me time and gasoline too. While you are at it, click here if you would like to know the rest of my supplement routine. (adrenal support etc.)

Best Time of the Day for Passion, Creativity, Tough Tasks, Breaks, Collaborations and more.

Dance with your brain's natural power hours and you will naturally re-energize your day.

Sorry. I promised to post this info Friday but the bug continued … turns out I had some weirdo infection that required anti-biotics. Once again I am thankful to be a modern American woman.

In the “good old days” most of us were dead by forty, often due to something as innocuous as a sinus infection – if we survived childbirth. Then I am a happy American woman because there is no other country in this world where women enjoy such freedom, opportunity and respect. I celebrate all of this everyday. ( I had to explain those 3 words to another girlfriend today.)

Now … about the “Best Brain Time of the Day for Passion, Creativity, Tough Tasks, Breaks and Collaborations and more.”

Research by Lynn Hasher, PhD, a psych professor from the University of Toronto, indicates we are wired with ranges of brain power during the day. She suggests we work with this natural rhythm to be more productive and feel happier, more satisfied and energized.

I have been trying this out during the past week and I LOVE the schedule. Here is the “bottom line” scoop.

7 to 9 AM
Best time for … Passion
Take time to bond with your spouse and whisper sweet nothings in his ear and caress his bod. (May I add that I read somewhere that most couples are more than satisfied with a 7 minute “quickie.”)

9 – 11 AM
Best time for … Creativity
Take on projects that require creative problem solving or a fresh imaginative direction.Best time for analysis and concentration.

11 AM to 2 PM
Best time for … Tough Tasks
Tackle “chores” like errands, website updates, bill pay, emails, problem solving with your partner (business, significant other). Good time for presentations to clients.
(I am writing this piece during this time!)

2 to 3 PM
Best time for … A Break

Great time to take it easy and digest your lunch, morning and early afternoon accomplishments. Take a stroll with your, pray, meditate, stroke your purr friend, read something inspirational and unrelated to your work. You could also try one of my 15 minute “Power Problem Solving Naps.”

Just get comfortable. You can put your head on a desk like in grammer school or lay back in your lazy chair or couch. Dlose your eyes and put your problem out “there” in a “what do I need to do to …” or “how can I …” format. Nine times out of ten I wake up with a divinely inspired solution! You will too.

3 to 6 PM
Best time for … Collaboration

By this time of the day the brain is pretty tired. You won’t be as “sharp” but an easy-going and flexible attitude is perfect for conversations and collaboration. Also 1 + 1 = 3.
Use this time to join forces and create new, fun opportunities!

6 to 8 PM
Best time for … Personal Tasks
There is apparently lots of energy during these hours for “to dos” like cleaning rooms, cooking delicious meals, writing notes, dashing through errands.I’ll confirm this when I am totally recovered from this infection! This is the time, by coincidence?, that my husband and I packed away Christmas last night.

8-10 PM
Best time for … Relaxation
It is time to unwind and starting getting in the sleepy head zone. Take a walk with your dog then slip into a hot bath with Epsom salts, lavender essence oil and a paperback. If you’re going to watch TV make it something light, entertaining and comedic. Do something repetitious like knitting or sewing.

If you have trouble sleeping, click here for what works for moi.

10 PM Onward
Best Time for … Sleeping
This is the time to end your day on two up notes.

Journal: Write down 3 accomplishments for the day in your journal. If you are one of those Type A Perfectionists who never thinks anything is good enough! I’ll give you three of mine to use. Ready? …
1. Got out of bed; 2. Did my best; 3. Gave thanks for another day of life.

Inspired Reading: read something inspirational. I often end my day with 2 or 3 Catherine Ponder Pages, a Bible passage or another reading selection that lifts and relaxes my spirits.

There you have it. Eight distinct braniac times of the day and the best ways to use them to be more productive, balanced and energized. Use them to add joy to your day, everyday. And, if this has been helpful please forward the link to a friend.

There is no duty we so underestimate as the duty of being happy. By being happy, we bestow anonymous benefits upon the world.

Action - the antidote to angst.

Been feeling angsty lately. Do you know that feeling where nothing is right or going right or will ever be right again? That in the head spinning, fretting, fussing, tossing and turning that puts the capital "F" in Fatigue?

Then I remembered how action is the way out ... so I worked out at the gym last night, called and cheered up friends this morning and started work on a nagging project ... Oh, and I agreed to take a break from worrying about politics and a dog named Luke for the rest of the afternoon.

If you are here perhaps you too need to take a break from some energy sucking thing, thought, situation or person and get busy on anything else! Let's do it together!

Here is a link to The Serenity Prayer.. Here's another to the Benefits of Friendship and Laughter because pals and chuckles recharge adrenal glands, boost energy levels and shift our perspective on life faster than just about anything else out there. Take action. Enjoy both today!

STOP. Ask for help ...

Energy Tip # 6. STOP. Ask for help.
You don't have to do everything all by yourself. Do you?

Have you heard the saying, "Pride goeth before the fall?" Loosely interpreted it means you may fall flat on your face if your need to "look good" gets in the way of your body's right to "feel GREAT."

Don't know about you, but I have been far too slooooow to ask for help. Somewhere I learned that needing help was a sign of ... (click here for more)

Easy Tips to Feng Shui Your Kitchen

I just came across this jewel of an article. bottom-line, easy, "how to" advice on setting up a kitchen that supports your health and re-energizes all of you - mind, body, spirit.

When we moved into our new home I hired a Feng Shui expert to come in and spend a couple hours with us. We spent a lot of time in the bedroom ... moved our bed away from the wall adjoining the staircase (noise, traffic, restlessness) and out of alignment with the toilet! (congestion in the lungs). I can tell you that made a HUGE difference in our comfort and enjoyment ...

We didn't spend much time with our expert in the kitchen - ran out of time & budget! But that's o.k. because this really covers it all.

Note: Getting rid of fatigue does require attention to our nutition and our enviornment both of which can collide or joyfully combine in our kitchen ...

Feng Shui Your Kitchen

The kitchen has always been the center of the home - throughout the history and in every culture. The old saying ‘home is where the heart is’, as the kitchen was the main source of fire for warmth and cooking, and indeed this was the heart of the home. Fireplaces in other rooms were a luxury, but in the kitchen, where family life, socializing, cooking and eating merged into one, they were a necessity. Click here for more -

The Glycemic Index - Low glycemic Food List - My new friends ...

Some of you know about my quest over this past year to help my husband get over his fatigue and chronic migraines.

Let me tell you, I am grateful for my own recovery from fatigue! It takes energy and stamina to keep track of his medications and Drs appointments and dietary upgrades and keep my head and spirits in a healthy place.

Last week we finally got the green light from his primary doc and his neurologist to go through a toe to tip of head examination. I will share with you the tests and results as they come in because they may help you or someone you love.

Did the MRI and MRA and no brain tumor is sight. Excellent. His blood sugar test which screens for diabetes was however a BIG surprise. Happy to tell you Michael is not diabetic but if we don't make changes NOW that is the direction in which he is headed. (and probably me too!)

This has me researching a new world called the "Glycemic Index" and double checking our diet. Here is the abbreviate "bottom line" for you to use to check out your own diet.

The glycemic index gives us an idea of which foods raise our blood glucose fastest and highest. Research indicates that eating a diet with a relatively low blood glucose impact can protect us from diabetes, and likely from heart disease as well. -Laura Dolson, About.com Guide to Low Carb Diets since 2005

In my husband's case his downfall has been the additions to my healthy cooking i.e. bread, soy ice cream PLUS a major lack of exercise!

The lack of exercise crept in over the holidays and over these past months as a result of the headaches. It's been a vicious circle of not feeling well so not exercising then lack of exercise contributing to him feeling well. (His doc said the next time he has a migraine that he should put on legs weights and climb stairs until he breaks a sweat vs. sit it out.)

Anyway - Information is potential. Action is power. Today we are starting to put this information into motion. You can join in.

Today, UP your exercise whether you feel like it or not. Climb extra stairs. Get out there for a walk or head into the gym for a class. Go at your own speed. You don't have to compete. Just go.(Exercise removes sugar from your bloodstream during and after your workout. Sitting on a couch, doesn't. It is vital to heading off diabetes.)

Today, EAT UP on low glycemic foods (beans, peas, meats, fish, apples, plums) and cut out or cut down on your evening indulgences and anything "white" (white bread, rice, potatoes) Click here for an excellent list of low glycemic foods, dos and don'ts. And,

Twis the week before Christmas and what can you do?

1. Break Your Fast (Breakfast) the right way.

* One American out of four starts the day without eating breakfast

* Studies have shown that adults and children who skip breakfast tend to have higher cholesterol levels and, consequently, are at a greater risk of developing heart disease

* A 12 yr-old who skips breakfast has the reaction time and mental agility of a 70 year old in the classroom. (Wonder how that ages adults in the office, in the car, in relationships ...)

First Things First.
Upon rising make yourself a glass of hot water with (click here for more more including the Fatigue Be Gone Fatigue Busting Breakfast!)

Letter from a tired woman ...

Hey Viveca,

My time seems to never slow down!

I think last time I emailed you I said I was trying more starchy carbs in the morning, but I think those are hurting me more, by making me crave more carbs....so I'm still trying to find a happy medium when it comes to carbs and providing energy.

The past week I have been back to feeling pretty tired during the early mornings and early evening hours ...

-----------

Dear Feeling Pretty Tired,

PLEASE keep a food and beverage journal for at least the next 3 days. Then send it to me so I can have a peak ...

* I am wondering if you are eating more sweets, sweetie? From Halloween onward we tend to slip in a little and a lot of sweets. These raise us up and drop us flat and craving more and feeling tired.

* I am wondering if you are drinking enough water - at least 8 glasses a day starting with 1ST thing in the morning.

* I am wondering what your blood type is? If you are type "O", the most common blood type, then I recommend that you get off of all wheat and dairy and add more meal into your diet.

Why?

Tired in the morning points to allergies - the most common allergy triggers are wheat and dairy. You can easily substitute Ezekiel bread and ezekiel or buckwheat cereal (for the wheat) and Almond milk, goat cheese and yogurt (for the cow dairy). Try this for a week and see how you feel.

Tired in the early evening points to Toxin Overload. Drinking more water, with a squeeze of lemon, can help clear out your system enough to notice is your are feeling better and need to do more ... (and you probably will, but after the holidays.)

Final note (until I hear from you!) Add more protein into your diet. Protien cuts the carb cravings. (Beef, seafood, tofu, beans, eggs, yogurt, turkey & apple sausages (yum!)

Energetically yours! Viveca

P.S. If you are reading this and you do not yet own the Fatigue Be Gone Jumpstart e-Guide don't wait another moment. NOW is the right time to check in with yourself and make a couple tweaks to energize in time to enjoy this special time with friends and family. Click here for more info. Shrimp & Papaya & Mango & Chicken, Oh my...

Just browsing through one of my favorite magazines, Health Magazine, and came across a couple energy boost foods and recipes to share with you!

1. Shrimp. A 3-ounce serving has 14% of our recommended daily amount of energy boosting iron. Furthermore, it recommends that we look for "Wild American" Shrimp because it is free of contamination issues. (Iron carries oxygen to red blood cells to help prevent anemia. Anemia is extremely fatiguing - been there, done that.)

You know what else? This is an easy kapeezy lunch addition. Pack 'em in a Tupperware with a little Tupperware of dipping sauce ... yummy!

2. Papaya-Mango Chicken Salad. Says to mix pre-cooked chicken with fat-free creme cheese, diced papaya, scallions and some mango chutney. Then a dash of salt, pepper and lime juice.

I'll make this for Michael and moi lunch tomorrow - his will be minus the creme cheese 'cause he is lactose intolerant. Well, gotta run off to the grocery store ... See you tomorrow.

Pssst. Have posted a number of energizing recipes here, check 'em out. And, if you want to re-Energize your body, mind and spirit then check out the Fatigue Be Gone! Jumpstart e-Guide. It has what you need and is instantly available upon receipt of payment.

Boost Your Energy with "Portable Reiki"

I just laid me down and gave myself a pick-me-up thanks to this cool little book called "Portable Reiki Easy Self-Treatment for Home, Work and on the Go"

I love the way it shows and tells "how to." The photos are excellent and its titles make it easy to choose what to do. For example I have been on the verge of a full blown migraine all morning and I've been feeling stressed over a loved ones health problem.

So ... I chose to do the "Settling Down, Calming Down" series which consists of three hand positions to 1) strengthen the kidneys, adrenal glands ... 2) reduce stress, enhance clarity of thought and intuition and position 3) harmonized both sides of my brain, helps memory and brings on the joy.

Doesn't get much better than that!

Other series include: Chakra Balancing, Nonsense Meditation!, Unjamming the Traffic, Plane Travel, Grounding, Sleep Help, Quick Work De-stresser, Getting Your Head Together, Four Quick Pick Me Ups and Reiki to Refresh Your Energy.

Results of my hands on self-healing? Feeling more energized and that migraine headache is fading back. It is almost gone and so it that nagging anxiety over my friend. Cool beans.

Click here to order your own copy of Portable Reiki and learn how easy it is to start healing yourself. And, for more reading and energy boosting resources do visit the Fatigue Be Gone! Reading Room. BTW - any suggestions to add to our room are welcome. Just drop me a note at Viveca@FatigueBeGone.com

1. How do you break-your-fast?
2. Just Say No.
3. Get help. Don't be shy.

Do you know that saying, "Pride goeth before the fall?"

I don't know about you, but I have been far to slow to ask for help. Somewhere I learned that needing help was a sign of weakness. So ... I had to do it all by myself. It is exhausting to take on the world and to take on activities that didn't suit my personality or style.

If I knew then what I know now I would have let go - hired out and kept it a whole lot simplier!

Here are a few of my favorite pit-stops for support. Send me yours ...

1. Hire an organization professional at http://www.onlineorganizing.com/ (Also has excellent "how to" products.)

2. Get expert relationship advice. Nothing is more exhausting than an unhealthy relationship. Whether it is their fault or yours doesn't matter, You, yes YOU, need to get the help you need. Visit GetReadyforLove.com. Tune into an expert and a topic that can help.

3. Figure out your best "style" and go for it! I'm a "hare." In other words, I am an idea person who thrives on coming up with fun and creative ideas to launches or promote just about anything. That is what energizes me. What I don't like is the tedium of follow through -- talk about fatigue! Click here to take the "Hots" Test. It is short and sweet.

4. Connect with others. You don't have to do anything all by yourself. There are groups to help you with just about anything. Click here and see if you don't find just what you need right now at "You Are Not Alone" http://www.fatiguebegone.com/youarenotalone

Tips for Moms who suffer from Fatigue AND Insomnia

Tip #1. Buddy up and get the support you need. Becoming a mother comes more naturally to some women than to others. If you lie awake at night worrying about whether you’re up to the job, you might find it beneficial to join a parenting or play group. It’s reassuring and empowering to learn from other mom's who are going through exactly the same things you are.

Caveat: Avoid the know-it-all women who manage to infiltrate every playgroup. They love to smear others’ parenting skills and they’re famous for asking babies stupid questions like, “When are you ever going to get a tooth?” --Terry Hernon MacDonald, Founder, http://www.HappyGirlMusing.com
