10 Ways to Boost Your Energy TODAY.

1. How do you break-your-fast?
2. Just Say No.
3. Get help. Don't be shy.

Do you know that saying, "Pride goeth before the fall?"

I don't know about you, but I have been far to slow to ask for help. Somewhere I learned that needing help was a sign of weakness. So ... I had to do it all by myself. It is exhausting to take on the world and to take on activities that didn't suit my personality or style.

If I knew then what I know now I would have let go - hired out and kept it a whole lot simplier!

Here are a few of my favorite pit-stops for support. Send me yours ...

1. Hire an organization professional at http://www.onlineorganizing.com/ (Also has excellent "how to" products.)

2. Get expert relationship advice. Nothing is more exhausting than an unhealthy relationship. Whether it is their fault or yours doesn't matter, You, yes YOU, need to get the help you need. Visit GetReadyforLove.com. Tune into an expert and a topic that can help.

3. Figure out your best "style" and go for it! I'm a "hare." In other words, I am an idea person who thrives on coming up with fun and creative ideas to launches or promote just about anything. That is what energizes me. What I don't like is the tedium of follow through -- talk about fatigue! Click here to take the "Hots" Test. It is short and sweet.

4. Connect with others. You don't have to do anything all by yourself. There are groups to help you with just about anything. Click here and see if you don't find just what you need right now at "You Are Not Alone" http://www.fatiguebegone.com/youarenotalone

10 Ways to Boost Your Energy Today

1. How do you break-your-fast?

2. Just Say No.

Some of us (who me?) are people pleasing, can't-say-no, fools. Are you aware that being "nice" - to the degree that it is an exhausting burden - is a major cause of fatigue? Trust me - it is and, I learned that the hard way.

Perhaps NOW might be just the right time for you to listen into our interview with the authors of Anxious to Please 7 Revolutionary Practices for the Chronically Nice and learn how to break this habit and re-Energize all your relationships. Whew. What a relief.

10 Ways to Boost Your Energy Today

1. How do you break-your-fast?

Breakfast. My first memories are bleak. I remember being timed to eat food I hated AND being punished for not “gobbling” it down like my power munching older brothers. Mom claims that this is a distorted memory but I don’t think so …

Anyway this early breakfast trauma and drama paved the way for my adult breakfast choices – a cup of coffee and something, on the RUN – maybe.

Honestly, I thought breakfast was a “boring” social obligation. I did understand that most of the world seemed to wake up hungry. I just was never one of them.

These days I still don’t wake up hungry BUT I am busy at the breakfast trough because …

I found out the hard way (years of fatigue, adrenal fatigue, anemia, you-name-it-fatigue) that breakfast is what rules the morning energy gods. It fuels the rest of the day and it is THE fastest and easiest way boost your energy, your mood and promote harmonious interactions with world at large.

These days I have also made peace with my oatmeal past. In fact, I even came up with an Oatmeal Energy Boost Recipe that rocks! Click here to add it to your morning breakfast recipe repertoire – you’ll feel the better for it …

The 10-Minute Energy Solution and Parenting with Fire

I happened to stop at Border's Books today and scored with a couple cool finds ... they both address the mental and emotional factors that trigger fatigue and how to boost energy and recover from fatigue.

"The 10-Minute Energy Solution" A Proven Plan to Increase Your Energy, Reduce Your Stress, and Transform Your Life." I'll give it a go and let you know how I like it ...

"Parenting with Fire - Lighting Up the Family with Passion and Inspiration." I bought this one with a girlfriend in mind ... is there anything more tiring, draining and demanding than a teen-ager? O.k. maybe a newborn. She has both - yikes!

Anyway ... part of my point here is to encourage you to never stop learning, growing or making the time for inspirational reads and "ah has" in your life. For an expanded listing of my favorite reads and resources, just click here ...

Tips for Tired Moms continued ...

Tip #4. Use your bedroom only for sleep and sexual activity so that these are the ONLY things your mind associates your room with. Get rid of the TV, the computer, the briefcase full of work. Read before bedtime in another room and go to bed once you get sleepy. This will create an "anchor" for your mind that causes it to shift into sleep mode when you go into your bedroom. -- Darlene Hull, Founder, www.mom-defrazzler.com

Sparkling Cinnamon, Ginger Water. Ahhhhhh.

This is what I cart around with me instead of sodas or javas. Why?

Benefits of Cinnamon: Can lower LDL cholesterol, may have a regulatory effect on blood sugar, making it especially beneficial for people with Type 2 diabetes and is a great source of manganese, fiber, iron, and calcium. Tastes great. ( I put one of those cinnamon sticks in my water bottle.)

Benefits of Ginger: As a mood enhancer, ginger's cineole content may help contribute to stress relief. Ginger is also thought to be good for circulation. (I cut up slices of ginger and drop them in.)

Benefits of Water: Oh I could go on and on about this. You know how plants drop when they are starving for water? So do we but instead of reaching for a simple glass of water usually we try to get back in the game with a cup of coffee (further dehydrates) or a fatty, sugary treat (fills us out not up.)

Give this a sip. For an extra tange and exhilaration, drop in a couple tsps of apple cider vinegar.

Tips for tired moms

Tip #3. Sweat A Lot. Yes, you read that right.

According to a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, researchers found that people who exercised for 30 to 40 minutes, four times a week, were able to cut the time it took them to fall asleep by an average of 15 minutes.

Well - today I walked dogs for the Humane Society for 2 1/2 hours in 90 degree weather. I plan to sleep tight tonight!

Tips for tired moms

Tip #2. Play soothing music to lull you to sleep. It works for the babes, why not for you too! There are many clock/radio/CD players that have a sleep timer and will turn off after 15 minutes. Many CDs are made with tones meant to help induce sleep. Music and nature sounds will replace the thoughts in a busy mind and help the cares of the day fade away. -- Barbra Alberts, Owner, www.SelfIndulgence.biz

PSST. Speaking of self-indulgence ... when you purchase the Fatigue Be Gone! Jumpstart e-Guide you can treat yourself to the Reflex Foot Scrub for next to nothin. I love it! Has turned my hoofs into soft pink heels again. Click here for more information.

Tips for Moms who suffer from Fatigue AND Insomnia

Tip #1. Buddy up and get the support you need. Becoming a mother comes more naturally to some women than to others. If you lie awake at night worrying about whether you’re up to the job, you might find it beneficial to join a parenting or play group. It’s reassuring and empowering to learn from other mom's who are going through exactly the same things you are.

Caveat: Avoid the know-it-all women who manage to infiltrate every playgroup. They love to smear others’ parenting skills and they’re famous for asking babies stupid questions like, “When are you ever going to get a tooth?” --Terry Hernon MacDonald, Founder, http://www.HappyGirlMusing.com

Favorite Health Quotes
Whether you think you can, or think you can't, you're right.
-Henry Ford

I like to apply this quote to a lot of things, including health. Be sure to tuck it away and pull it out if you ever get bad news from a doctor. I know more people who were supposed to be dead who are alive and THRIVING. What I have noticed most is that their thinking made all the difference ... we can feel GREAT ... if we think we can.

LOL - at yourself! Can you?

Tired women tend to take themselves and life too seriously. Someone said to me recently, "Don't sweat the small stuff and, it's all small stuff."

That didn't just hit home - it hit a home run with me and my attitude.

So ... guess that is why I am sharing what could be considered one of the most embarrassing photos of my life. See if you can pick me out of this enthusiastic, engaged group.

I am the women on the end who, according to my nieces, looks so peaceful. Trust me - I wasn't peaceful. I was praying. Just get me off of this, just get me through this and I will ...

Every time I look at this photo I laugh out loud! It is a great reminder that life is a roller coaster but I can find a way to enjoy or, at least, flow with the moment. And, I am never alone!

What about you? Any photos, any stories you'd like to share? Post away ...

The Fat Flush Diet Vegetable, Fruit & Protein Bath

The Fat Flush Foods is an excellent book by Ann Louise Gittleman. I came across it while researching the best way to cleanse my body right ...

1 "bottom line" tip is to wash off toxic chemicals and preservatives. This also helps our fruits, vegetables and meats stay fresh longer. Win win win.

Here's how - 3 Step Process:

* Step 1 - Add 1/2 teaspoon of regular 'ol Clorox per 1 gallon of purified water. (I'm using tap until I get my filtered water set up.)

* Step 2- Soak away according to this schedule:
Leafy vegetables 15 minutes
Root, thick-skinned, or fibrous vegetables 30 minutes
Fruits 30 minutes
Poultry, fish, *meat and eggs 20 minutes

*don't place ground meat in the bath. Frozen meat can be thawed in a Clorox bath. Allow for 20 minutes for up to 5 lbs of meat.

* Step 3 - Soak again for 10 minutes in clear water and rinse.

This is an easy routine to get into ... I do it on Sunday nights then make up my veggie bags for the week. Doing more of less keeps it simple.

Till tomorrow ... eat well, feel well and find something that makes you giggle and guffaw. Why?
Our adrenals thrive on the "hoot" boost. Need inspiration? Click here.

Love makes us stronger

Older women who rarely miss a workout are 3 times as likely to have an active spouse as those who exercised less consistently. -Source, Prevention.com

Bottom line is "we" keep each other on track and feeling fine.

I have proof of this, fortunately or unfortunately. This week my husband has been out of town and somehow - gee whiz - I just haven't made it to the gym. Not a once. It has been a lot easier to eat "whatever" vs. something "good" for me.

All this time I kind of thought I was the one helping him get healthy. Now I know how much loving and encouraging him helps me stay on track. Should I admit this to him? You bet. We'll have a lot of time to catch up on that ride back from the airport ...

Get back to your roots, literally ...

A study from the University of Bristol in the United Kingdom found that digging in the dirt may boost your mood and help you cope with stress.

My mother has been showing and telling me this for years. I just thought she wanted cheap labor though I admit that the older I get the more I enjoy hanging and hauling and hoeing ...

So --- the moral to this story is get out there and give your mom a hand or just potter & putter around on your own like we did when we were kids and mud pies were so much fun!

Friendship re-Energizes Women -- Proof!

UCLA STUDY ON FRIENDSHIP AMONG WOMEN
By Gale Berkowitz

A landmark UCLA study suggests friendships between women are special. They shape who we are and who we are yet to be. They soothe our tumultuous inner world, fill the emotional gaps in our marriage, and help us remember who we really are. By the way, they may do even more. Scientists now suspect that hanging out with our friends can actually counteract the kind of stomach-quivering stress most of us experience on a daily basis. A landmark UCLA study suggests that women respond to stress with a cascade of brain chemicals that cause us to make and maintain friendships with other women. It's a stunning find that has turned five decades of stress research---most of it on men---upside down.

And, don't forget to be your own best friend ... Order your copy of the Fatigue Be Gone! Jumpstart e-Guide today to review, renew and re-Energize all of you! Click here for more information http://fatiguebegone.com/fbgguideinformation.htm

Stressed-Out American Women Have No Time for Sleep

You gotta read this ... all of this. Here is just one interesting tidbit. - Viveca

Lack of Sleep Disrupts Quality of Life

The Sleep in America poll also finds that a lack of a good night’s sleep is interfering with a woman’s quality of life. Women report that they often choose to put healthy activities last on their priority list as they struggle through their daily lives. When pressed for time, one-half of the women polled responded that sleep (52%) and exercise (48%) are the first things they sacrifice. Additionally, more than one-third of women say they also reduce the amount of time they spend with friends and family (39%), stop eating healthy (37%) and don’t participate in sexual activity with their partner (33%) when they run out of time or are too sleepy in a day. Interestingly, work is the last thing that women say they sacrifice when pressed for time; only 20% of women responded that they would opt to put work on the back burner when they run out of time or are too sleepy.

Click here for more Sleep in America Poll Highlights. Very informative.

Think Happy Thoughts

I was out doing a little strolling and window shopping and lo and behold I spied this little sign that said "Think Happy Thoughts."

So - I've been doing that ever since.

Your turn!

Psst. Orange is the "happy" color. Can you add some of that into your day too?

Do something. Joy is the gift that keeps on giving.

I am tired of my jobS - yes - plural!

My re-Energizing tip for today is ... release, reorganize, re-evaluate and revamp your work situation. Maybe the jobS is what is zapping your joy, energy - your life. It is for me right now.

I have 3 blogs, 2 websites, a new house to manage, the health of myself and various friends and family members and ... and .... and ... something's gotta give! I have too much to do!

So today I hired a business consultant to sit down with me and figure out what to eliminate, what to keep and how to enjoy and simplify whatever remains. WOW! I feel great baby!

Is this what you need to be reading right now? Why? What are you going to do?

Colors of the Chakras Meditation.

Today I am starting my days with all the Colors of the Chakras Meditation!

I have been everywhere over these past couple weeks mentally, physically and emotionally. I have been "too busy" to feed my spirit with readings, rest or meditation. That's THE SIGN that I need it most.

So right now instead of go-go-going, I paused to re-Energize all of me.
I started with the tip top of my crown chakra
to the third eye chakra,
to the throat chakra,
to the heart chakra,
to the solar plexus chakra
to the sacral chakra
and finally, to the root chakra.
(This is supposed to be red!)

Your turn. It is time to pause, close your eyes and involve your senses.

Touch: Use a hand to tap each body part as you visualize the colors. You will tap the top of your head, then ... your third eye/forehead, throat, heart, rib cage, belly and groin.

Hearing: Use your voice to say each word out loud. Sight: Use your mind to bring in each color along the way. Smell: Breathe in jasmine or lemon or lavendar through your nose. Exhale stale thoughts and stress through your mouth. Use your sacred breath to recharge and relax all-of-you chakra by chakra.

There. How did you like that?! Repeat as needed -- I will.

FYI: I love to have relaxing scents all around me ... my desktop, kitchen counter, bedside. Feels - smells so good! Here is one brand I recommend ...
